When I damaged the output power stage of my FT817 I called a local repair centre. They refused to quote me a price for the repair saying “we’d have to call Yaesu, we’ve never repaired those before” ! I figured if anyone was going to learn about repairing my radio it should be me so I embarked on the repair detailed below.
